Honoring Miami's Black History Pioneers

We proudly honor these distinguished African American civic leaders whose unwavering commitment to community advancement, education, and civic engagement in Miami-Dade County continues to inspire generations. From Overtown to Liberty City, from Miami Gardens to Broward County, their impact shaped South Florida's Black history.

Through their dedication, they helped establish Miami's oldest African American scholarship organization, laying the foundation for over $250,000 in scholarships awarded to Miami-Dade County high school graduates.
